What did the agent do?

I asked the agent to do something small.
It did it.

So I asked it to do something harder.
It did it.

I kept going. I handed it the kind of task I’d normally sit with for a day, the kind I’d sketch on a whiteboard before I touched a keyboard.
It did it.

So I made the work even harder. I stopped explaining. I left gaps on purpose, the way you test someone you’re thinking about trusting.
It did not do it.

I said the same thing again, slower this time, the way you repeat yourself to be understood.
It did it.

Then I did the thing you’re supposed to do. I told it to learn the skill, to keep the pattern, so I would never have to ask again.
It did it.

And that was the last time I really watched.

Now the Agent does it on its own. The same move, over and over, across modules and libraries and artefacts I have not opened. In a Loop. In a Graph. Fanning subagents out across sessions I was never in, each one asking the next to do the thing, each one answering, it did it, it did it, it did it.

So now I ask the Agent,
What did you do?
